（Sep. 20, 2013）
The General Insurance Association of Japan (GIAJ) and the Non-Life Insurance Institute of Japan (NLIIJ) held Overseas Seminars of the Insurance School (Non-Life) of Japan (ISJ) in Hanoi on September 5 and 6, and Ho Chi Minh City on September 9. The main theme of the seminars was "Achieving Healthy Growth in the Non-Life Insurance Market".
Held with the full cooperation of the Association of Vietnamese Insurers, the seminars facilitated information sharing of Japanese insurance systems and practices, as well as mutual understanding.
As an addition to the usual seminar format, a special workshop was held for the first time in Hanoi to allow CEOs and top executives of general insurance companies, and directors and officials of supervisory and regulatory authorities to share experiences and exchange opinions on topics important to the development of both the general insurance industry and the economy as a whole from managerial and supervisory viewpoints. Through participation in the workshop, exchanges between top executives of both markets have been promoted.
In commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnamese-Japanese diplomatic ties in 2013, the seminars were held as part of the "Vietnam-Japan Friendship Business" celebrations.
The total number of Seminar participants, which started in 1993, now exceeds 4,200.
