On September 2nd and 3rd, an Overseas Seminar of the Insurance School (Non-Life) of Japan (ISJ) was held in Bangkok under the joint auspices of the General Insurance Association of Japan (GIAJ), the General Insurance Institute of Japan (GIIJ), and the Thai General Insurance Association.
Under the main theme of “Achieving Healthy Growth in the Automobile Insurance Market”, directors, managers and staff of general insurance companies and supervisory bodies both from Thailand and Japan had active discussions on how to achieve sound, sustainable automobile insurance business development through underwriting at reasonable, adequate rates while ensuring proper claim payments in a de-tariffed market.
Taking advantage of the opportunity provided by the Seminar, an ISJ Graduates Reunion Party was held in which Thai graduates of the ISJ General and Advanced Courses, held in Tokyo, renewed friendships as well as enjoyed talking with new colleagues including the Japanese seminar lecturers.
The total number of Overseas Seminar participants, which started in 1993, exceeds 4,400, while the number of graduates from General and Advanced Courses exceeds 1,800.
